It’s just one of those days where you don’t wanna spend money on festival tickets, but a headliner has taken that option away from you, and you’re forced to organise flights, accommodation, and beg your manager to approve your time off.
After far too many teases, the full lineup for this year’s Good Things festival has been announced, with nu-metal legends Limp Bizkit taking top billing. That’s right, the chocolate starfishing-loving lads will headline, marking their return to the festival after last appearing in 2023. The Fred Durst-led group is almost guaranteed to hold a special place in the hearts of most 90s kids, with songs like Rollin’ and Break Stuff chronicling many an angsty teenage phase.
Montreal, Quebec-based rock band Simple Plan and British Columbian heavy metal group Spiritbox round out the festival’s top trio. Another 90s throwback, folks of a certain vintage will be all too familiar with Simple Plan tracks like Perfect, while everyone and their dog has heard I’m Just a Kid thanks to short-form content like TikTok.
Led by vocalist Courtney LaPlante, Spiritbox mixes heavy instrumentals and screaming with LaPlante’s melodic vocals, making for a unique heavy metal experience. Tracks like Circle With Me and Holy Roller are favourites among fans, and should give prospective listeners an idea of what to expect from the group.
Polaris, The All-American Rejects, Bilmuri, Slowly Slowly, and Neck Deck round out the top-end acts, alongside Alexisonfire performing the entirety of their 2006 album Crisis, Ministry completing their final tour of Australia, and Bad Religion celebrating their 45 + 1 anniversary (46th anniversary for those playing at home). The festival is set to take over three venues and across three cities:
- Melbourne | Flemington Racecourse on Friday, December 4
- Sydney | Showground on Saturday, December 5
- Brisbane | Showgrounds on Sunday, December 6
Tickets go live on general sale on Thursday, 20th August, at 10am. If the lineup announcement has completely sold you over, you can sign up for presale on the Good Things website, which will grant you access to ticket sales on Tuesday, 18th August at 10am.
Tickets for the festival will run you $274.95 and will only be available to those 16 years or older.
