If you like your blades to come with a side of chaos and your sons referred to as BOY, then I’ve got some good news for you.
During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con dedicated to God of War Laufey, Santa Monica Studios Head of Creative Cory Barlog casually confirmed that another God of War title was in the works, and this one will see everyone’s favourite Spartan dad return to the leading role.
Kicking off the panel in Ballroom 20, Barlog addressed the crowd, detailing all of the God of War-related projects currently on the go, including Laufey and the trilogy remake. He then, very casually, said, ” I was actually talking to the director of the next Kratos game earlier this week about all the different things that are…oh fuck, did I just announce the next Kratos game?”
It was a very tongue-in-cheek reveal that was played off as a slip-up, but Barlog immediately went on to confirm that the yet-to-be-named game will be released after Laufey and will be connected to Faye’s journey. Outside of that, we know as much as we did before the panel.
Of course, the other big news to come out of the Laufey panel was the reveal of the game’s February release date, which shouldn’t come as too big a shock, given the first we saw of the title was a 20-minute gameplay trailer during the recent State of Play.
We want to hear from you. Are you relieved to hear that Atreus’ dad will be back after Laufey? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
