It’s been ten years since Blood and Wine launched, so I reckon we can wait a bit longer.
Developer CD Projekt Red has announced that the first look at the next DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, titled Songs of the Past, will debut at Gamescom Opening Night Live. The Geoff Keighley-hosted show will take place on August 26 at 4am.
Confirming long-standing rumours with an official announcement back in May, Songs of the Past will be the third expansion for the beloved open-world RPG, succeeding Heart of Stone and the aforementioned Blood and Wine.
This expansion is being co-developed by CD Projekt Red and Fool’s Theory, a team comprised of creatives who previously worked on The Witcher 3. The standalone DLC will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and will, according to CD Projekt CEO Michał Nowakowski, act as something of a prologue to The Witcher 4.
We don’t have a release date for Songs of the Past yet, but it’s set to drop sometime in 2027.
