Some Crafty Hints Are Suggesting We Will See StarCraft At BlizzCon 2026

BlizzCon 2026 is mere days away, so the idea of new Blizzard related news is hardly a stretch — what is a little stretchy is the idea of StarCraft news. The last mainline StarCraft experience was Legacy of the Void all the way back in 2015, with very little happening since then. I guess you could almost count the StarCraft themed mini-set for Hearthstone in 2025 if you were desperate.

However there is a lot of evidence to suggest that 2026 may well be the year for us sickos that love the classic space-borne conflict, with the StarCraft website throwing up a ton of interactive clues that something is going on.

It started a few days ago, with noticeable glitches when viewing the page as game screenshots flickered and wobbled while you scrolled. Observant people also noticed that the backend code held some surprising messages that were not directed towards web developers, but rather people inhabiting the StarCraft universe. It was all so odd, I actually made a quick YouTube short covering the beginnings of this ARG experience:

Days later however, the website has now updated to be transparently obvious that something is afoot — with a glaring message telling ‘citizens’ to perhaps chill out with the fact finding and report to a re-education facility to reassume the status quo:

And so the speculation begins — are we getting StarCraft III? World of StarCraft? A new *shudder* mobile title? Whatever the outcome, I am entirely happy just to see the universe acknowledged in the wider scope of Blizzard outings.

Throwing my hat in the ring, my guess is that it wont be an RTS. I base this on nothing but wild speculation and a belief that the RTS genre is a hard sell in 2026.

We want to hear from you. Are we huffing space-borne hopium? Is StarCraft really making a BlizzCon appearance? What kind of game might it be? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
