A magnificent new trailer has arrived for Mega Man: Dual Override, showcasing fresh gameplay – and more importantly, a brand new Robot Master lady in the form of the fabulous firework spewing TWINKLE GIRL:
It’s a fantastic little snippet of the game, packed full of details that will have you reaching for the pause button to get a closer look. A jet rush power up? Falling sand platforms? Some cutscene-quality facial expressions? PROTO-MAN!? Awesome.
Then there is poor Twinkle Girl. Full of fun animations and a brilliant powerset, it almost feels a shame that she is destined to be exploded by the blue bomber in the quest for upgrades. Baby, you were a firework.
There is also a quick blink-and-you’ll-miss it cameo from a prior robot master, the goofy planetarium bot Astro Man from Mega Man 8. Are we getting some repeat robot masters? Is this the lost son of Astro Man come to avenge him? Actually on second thought, Astro Boy is a separate property entirely.
Mega Man: Dual Override is shaping up nicely to be everything starving Mega Man fans have been waiting for. At this point a scrap of anything would be acceptable, but Dual Override is dripping with style and substance.
Now I just need to cross my fingers for a Bass appearance and I will be set.
